This customer’s opener had its up and down limits way out of adjustment.
When opening, the door would only raise a couple of inches before stopping.
When closing, the opener was trying to keep pushing the door down even after it had reached the floor.
That kind of problem can put a tremendous amount of unnecessary force on the door and opener and can potentially lead to:

⚠️ Broken hardware
⚠️ Excessive strain on the opener
⚠️ Damage to the rail or other components
Instead of automatically recommending a new opener, we opened the motor unit and were able to reset the internal limit switches.
Once the limits were corrected, the opener knew where the door’s proper open and closed positions were again — and everything went back to working normally.
A relatively simple repair potentially saved this customer from paying for an unnecessary opener replacement.
