🔧 GARAGE DOOR MAINTENANCE TIP: DON’T FORGET TO LUBRICATE YOUR DOOR!

When was the last time you lubricated your garage door?

If you can’t remember, there’s a good chance it’s overdue!

One of the easiest ways to help extend the life of your garage door is through regular lubrication of its moving parts.

Proper lubrication helps:

âś… Reduce squeaking, grinding, and unnecessary noise
âś… Minimize friction and premature wear
âś… Keep hinges, rollers, and other moving components operating smoothly
âś… Reduce unnecessary strain on your garage door system
âś… Help prevent avoidable repairs down the road

So how often should you lubricate your garage door?

We generally recommend 3–4 times per year.

While some manufacturers recommend lubrication every six months, here in Southeast Texas, our hot summers, humidity, and dusty conditions can make more frequent maintenance beneficial.

And remember, not everything needs lubricant!

Use a garage door-specific lubricant on the appropriate moving components, including hinges, roller bearings, and springs.

🚫 Don’t grease your tracks! Tracks should be kept clean and free of debris, not packed with grease or lubricant that attracts dirt.

A few minutes of preventive maintenance can help keep your garage door running smoothly and potentially save you from expensive repairs later.
