We recently worked on a garage door where the top panel was bending and sagging while the door was in the open position.
That sag was causing the section to lose its shape, which made it harder for the door to travel back down and close properly.
The customer was understandably concerned that they might be looking at a much larger repair.
Fortunately, the fix was simple.
We replaced the damaged reinforcement strut, restored the support across the top section, and the door went right back to operating the way it should.

It’s a good example of why proper diagnosis matters. A door that looks like it has a major structural problem may sometimes only need one worn or damaged component replaced.
